“Self-confidence is the key,” said Aprillia Ragil, an uisi student from the accounting study program who won Southeast Asia B2B Sales Competition as 1st Runner-up at Universitas Gadja Mada on October, 19 2023.

South-East Asia Sales Competition (SEASAC) 2023 is a competition organized by Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) and SEAMEO Regional Open Learning Centre (SEAMOLEC) which is SEAMEO and SEAMOLEC are education centers for Southeast Asia. This project aims to strengthen Southeast Asian Universities capability to provide highly skilled Business to Business (B2B) sales professionals for the emerging international markets. SEASEC is a competition in which participants as sellers who offer products, then serve buyers who are experienced in the marketing industry. This competition has been held at the beginning of October and consists 4 rounds, while the first round is an online qualifier, the quarter final round also held online, the semi-finals and finals held at Gadjah Mada University on 18-19 oktober, 2023.

April participated in this competition because April had a target to be achieved for international scale competitions, also received recommendations from her lecturers and April wanted to test her selling skills and speaking skills in English. In the end she won Southeast Asia B2B Sales Competition as 1st Runner-up, and proved to others that she was able to achieve his goals.

Besides being confident, April also has some other tips for facing similar competitions, such as :

1. Enjoy when the competitition session takes place

2. Practice a lot for public speaking

3. Understand what we are going to talk about

4. Accept feedback and suggestions well

5. Don’t forget to pray
