The ASEAN University Network (AUN) is an Asian university association. It was founded in November 1995 by ASEAN member countries including 13 universities. After the enlargement of ASEAN by the ASEAN Charter in 1997 and 1999, the AUN membership has been increasing. It is an arrangement between 30 universities in the ten ASEAN countries. The AUN is composed of a Board of Trustees (BOT), the participating universities, and the AUN Secretariat.

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is a non-profit organization established by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in 1966. SEARCA implements its new strategy of Accelerating Transformation Through Agricultural Innovation (ATTAIN), it takes on a new organizational structure based on its aspiration to be lean but responsive to the needs of its internal and external environments, and adaptive to industry needs, market changes, and technological advances.

The ASEAN European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET) is a network of universities, consisting of European and South-East Asian universities with the goal of promoting the continuous internationalization of education and research. ASEA-UNINET was founded in 1994 by universities from Austria, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam as Austrian-South-East Asian University Network and consists today of more than 80 universities from 18 different countries.

The initial ASEM Partnership in 1996 consisted of 15 EU Member States, 7 ASEAN Member States, China, Japan, Korea and the European Commission. Today, ASEM comprises 53 Partners: 30 European and 21 Asian countries, the European Union and the ASEAN Secretariat. Through its informal process based on equal partnership and enhancing mutual understanding, ASEM facilitates and stimulates progress but does not seek to duplicate bilateral and other multilateral relationships between Asia and Europe.

The ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) programme, formally known as M-I-T, aims to create a vibrant student mobility programme for citizens of all SEAMEO member countries. It aims to use mobility as a driver for students to further career prospects and competences as well as to raise internationally-oriented approaches and foster innovation in selected discipline areas.

This forum provides a venue for academics to share their valuable experiences to improve higher education and international cooperation in the region. The International Secretariat of the SATU Presidents’ Forum, which includes the two subsections named Academic Exchange Subcommittee and Industry Academia Collaboration Sub-committee, has been established at NCKU to coordinate and to promote the related activities.

The Academic Consortium for the 21st Century (AC21) was established on June 24, 2002 at the International Forum 2002 hosted by Nagoya University, Japan, as an international network comprised of educational, research and industrial organizations throughout the world. The Forum brought together the presidents and high-ranking delegations from twenty-four of the world’s leading education and research institutions, and resulted in the founding of a new and vigorous global partnership in higher education, “Academic Consortium AC21”.

ProSPER Net is an alliance of leading universities in the Asia-Pacific region that are committed to integrating sustainable development into postgraduate courses and curricula. The network, dubbed ProSPER.Net: Promotion of Sustainability in Postgraduate Education and Research Network, is developing a new generation of leaders who can best tackle global sustainability challenges in the face of rapid environmental degradation. By changing the way higher education institutions teach students about sustainability, ProSPER.Net improves the ways in which future professionals manage sustainability issues across a wide variety of disciplines.

This consortium is opened for individual, institution and young professional networks to join the membership. IAHR membership includes knowledge makers and consumers, top and emerging scholars and leaders in the field of Hydro-Environmental science, engineering and research to meet, collaborate, exchange, further careers, promote work and augment influence on state-of-the-art projects and the world´s grand engineering challenges.
